PARKING (SATURDAYS, BRASENOSE RD) - IMPORTANT NOTICE
Home teams: It would be a great help if parents could try to walk or cycle to the ground with their child wherever possible and, if it is essential to come by car, please try to park away from Brasenose Road (and please do not park across residential driveways as this creates problems for our near neighbours).
Visiting Teams: We have been lucky enough to be offered use of the Conservative Club car park on Foxhall Road (opposite the end of Brasenose Road) on Saturday mornings (when it is not being used), so could all visiting teams please use this car park (please do not play any ball games whilst in the car park and take care crossing Foxhall Road to reach the Brasenose Road ground).

Champions [added 4 May 2008]
Earlier today, the U13 boys capped a wonderful season in the top of the table clash with Botley. Already guaranteed the runner-up spot, Casuals went in the game knowing that a win would bring home the division title. Having lost to Botley 8-4 earlier in the season, it was going to be a tough game but, in the end, Casuals wanted it more and came out 5-1 winners. Congratulations to Graham, all the boys, and everyone associated with the U13s. More detail soon...

Last night, the Reserves made it a double for the Men's teams this season by capturing the North Berks League Cup in a tough, end-to-end encounter with Coleshill Utd 'A', with every member of the team playing their part in a strong performance. The final score was 2-0, with both goals coming in the second half. More detail soon...

Firsts made to wait [added 21 April 2008]
The First went down 2-1 to second place Warborough & Shillingford on a cold and damp day to record only their second defeat of the season. Despite just about having the best of the first half, it took until 72nd minute for Tommy Fisher to find the goal for Casuals that could have brougnt the Division 3 title to Didcot. However Warborough had other ideas and took full advantage of some disarray at the back to grab two well taken goals to draw them level on points, though Warborough have played their games and Didcot have three games left. However other results went Didcot's way, with Ardington Res losing at Childrey and Botley losing their third straight game, which leaves Casuals needing just one point to clinch the title. Next up Botley United on Wednesday at home (6.30pm kick-off).

Sunday side bounce back [added 21 April 2008]

Ridgeway Cup [added 14 April 2008]
The Sunday XI put on a strong performance at Alfredian Park on Sunday evening against a very strong Robin Hood side, who were the defending champions from last year. The game was a cagey affair in the first half, with both sides unwilling to give any ground and Casuals were unlucky not to take the lead when Andrew Taylor's quick break was stopped by the Robin Hood goalie. Pressure mounted on the Casuals goal and it finally told when Robin Hood's Chris Thomas fired his shot into the net. In the second half, both sides came out strongly, Robin Hood looking for a goal that might kill off the tie and Casuals looking for an equaliser. Each side had their chances, but both goalies pulled off great saves to keep the ball out, with Joe Betteridge producing a fast reaction save to tip one shot on to the bar from short range. Casuals threw everything at the Robin Hood goal in the last ten minutes, with the travelling band of supporters trying to be the 12th man, but the ball just would not go in. Congratulations to Robin Hood for defending the Cup. Well done to Jon and all the boys in the Sunday XI for reaching the final and putting on such a valiant display against strong opposition. We're all proud of you.

Sunday team reach semis [added 21 February 2008]
Division 3B Didcot Casuals keeper Joe Betteridge proved his side's hero as Casuals claimed the scalp of second division Abingdon Exiles. After a goalless 120 minutes, Casuals won through, 4-2 on penalties. Betteridge saved Exiles' first penalty attempt then converted his own, with Lewis Monaghan, Simon Pritchard & Luke Hammond the other penalty shoot-out heroes. That puts the side through to the semi finals of the Ridgeway Cup. Great result everyone.
